This video from Sears PartsDirect shows how to replace the diverter motor on a dishwasher. My dishwasher is leaking from the diverter valve. Do I replace the entire sump motor assembly? This video provides step-by-step repair instructions for replacing the check valve on a Whirlpool dishwasher.
The diverter turns based on the cycle it is in. The motor diverter position sensor tells the board the location of the diverter cam.
The cam is keyed and will only go onto the shaft one way. Then the main sensor will set the diverter for the unit. Or any sensor is controlling and looking for the diverter flap position to stop automatically and activate wash motor?
I hear the diverter is turning. Does it matter what is the position of that flat plastic selective valve , or come sensor will . I have experienced the same diverter motor leaking problems. I bought the unit new years ago.
The fix is remove the the two screws that hold the diverter motor and pull the motor.
